VOTE: Wartime Elections Act

The Wartime Elections Act would allow any women related to a soldier to vote and would take away the right to vote from any immigrant from an enemy country.

FOR

It would be unthinkable to allow immigrants from enemy countries to vote in the wartime election!

1.      The choices made in a country should be made and supported by people born in that country.

2.      You never know if one or more of the immigrants who fled here is actually a spy trying to sabotage from the inside

3.      Only those who are working to support the war should be allowed to vote therefore women who aren’t related to servicemen and immigrants who don’t contribute to the war and don’t want anything to do with the war shouldn’t have a say in how things go.

We argue that voters see the light and realize the proper, reasoned judgement FOR preventing immigrants from enemy countries to vote!

AGAINST

With women given the power to vote, who knows where our country will end up.
1.       Women are emotional. Women are not as mentally capable as men to decide what is best for our country. Women could not mentally handle the pain in wars and the loss they would experience. Men are more calm and collected than women.
2.       Women are not the ones going to war, so why should they be the ones voting? Women are not experienced in the war and have no clue what it’s like. Women do their jobs in the home and should focus on that.
3.       Immigrants may hate the country they came from, so their vote is imperative. Everyone has a different reason for leaving their homeland, but the most common is distaste for their country.  Immigrants also know the enemy country better than any of us.
All of these reasons are proof enough for YOU to vote AGAINST giving women the privilege vote and taking the vote from our immigrants!

  9. For because of the fact that women who are not related to a serviceman or don't have anything to do with war probably have no idea what even goes on therefore shouldn't have a say in decisions, and immigrants shouldn't be able to vote if they haven't had citizenship for a certain amount of time

  11. I am for, women should always be allowed to vote. Also, I guess taking away voting rights from immigrants of enemy countries is understable.

  13. For, because everyone or most people should be able to vote on what is happening and what will change in their home country.

  14. For, women should be allowed to vote they are a part of Canada to and deserve a place at the table. We would be nothing if we didn't have women to help us with the war or everything else.

  15. For, women and men should be able to vote equally, not just those related to men in the war. Not letting immigrants from enemy countries vote would make sense.

  16. For, because men and women should both be allowed to vote. Women have opinions about who should be in power, just like men do. Allowing women related to servicemen to have the vote is one step closer to giving all women the vote.

  17. I would have to chose for because I agree that both men and women should have the right to vote. women should be allowed to have a say in who should be in power and who shouldn't. women should be allowed to have their own opions

  18. For because women should be allowed to vote just like men and even if it's just women who are related to servicemen it's still women getting to vote. Also I agree with the fact that immigrants shouldn't be allowed to vote because you never know if they're undercover and they don't contribute to the war so they shouldn't have a say in who gets elected.

  19. Against because the immigrants left their homes looking for a greater world, they should have a say in who they follow. Also if they are spies then they'll be caught and deported
