Air fight

John turnbell

Little is known about the artist he is from Ontario The photo was created in 1919 by the Canadian artist in Canada. This piece makes me think fast paced action packed drama of the fight in the skies.  I do feel excited looking at this its cool how there are no people all planes drawing your attention away from the death and towards the technology of the world war. I believe the artist was against killing because of not showing people but I think he loved planes and how they work and decided to use his love in a painting. I think it’s a realistic portrayal of all the planes zooming but like most art it is made pretty to appeal no blood or death almost as though it was more a piece of art then a picture of history.

  1. I really like your interpretation of this painting. It is very different from most of the war art that we see, and I think you did a good job of addressing why you think it is different.
