It's the winter of 1915. You are a 19 year old Canadian military officer who has stumbled away from the trenches. You find a young German soldier. He is injured and does not speak English. Your commanding officer has told you that any Germans found should be captured as a prisoner of war. The boy looks scared, tired and sad. Do you capture him and return him to camp or let him stay free?
I would bring him with me as a prisoner of war, because if I just left him out he would more than likely die of infection or of his wounds. Being a prisoner of war wouldn't be as bad as dying out in the trenches and he would be properly fed, the boy would likely be let out when the war was over.
ReplyDeleteI am a nice person and if it was today I would not but in the time I would have to capture him. all my friends and family dyeing at the hands of the Germans it would be a betrayal for me to let him go. looking at Germans and how they were brainwashed I dought they would let you go if they found you. finally I learned my lesson from saving private Ryan war has no rules or I owe you.
ReplyDeleteI would bring him with me to camp as a prisoner of war, because if he is left out there he could kill another soldier or die from his wounds and with him as a prisoner he would be kept alive and his wounds will probably be treated
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be able to bring myself to let him stay out there, injured, in the middle of winter. I would take him with me, I'm sure he wouldn't be treated badly. He's only a young boy, after all.
ReplyDeleteI would bring him in as a prisoner because he could kill other men out there or die and as a prisoner he would probably have a better chance of surviving than out on the battlefield.
ReplyDeleteI would not return him to his camp because than I would be known as a trader to my country. If I brought back the young soldier I could quite possibly be captured myself and they may hold me as a prisoner. If I was being instructed to do something id follow through with this task in order to keep my job, not let down my country, and not betrayed my fellow soldiers. If someone was too save people off the opposing field all the time eventually there wouldn't be a point to the war because everyone would be turning on their friends to help the opposite side. The young man may also be acting hurt and sad as a very pathetic attempt at a trap to capture young Canadian soldiers.
ReplyDeleteI would let him be free to be free to die because he is the enemy and we are sacrificing our lives to kill the Germans so I'm going to let him be free to die
ReplyDeleteI would take him with me as the prisoner because letting him go free would likely be leaving him behind and causing him to die of being injured. For him to be kept as a prisoner it would really be that bad as having to go out into the trenches and the boy would eventually be let out after the war was finished
ReplyDeleteI would bring him with me, he doesn't deserve to die alone in the trenches. Even being a prisoner is better than dying from blood loss, I would bring him to my camp so he will not die or injure one of my soldiers.
ReplyDeleteI would bring him in because those were my orders and the boy just like me most likely volunteered for war, he has pride for his country and loyalty and even though he may be scared so is everyone, doesn't mean it would change the way he feels about us. if anyone found out I let a prisoner go I would get into a lot of trouble, and most likely punished.
ReplyDeleteI would not want to pick either of the options. If he was a prisoner of war he would be not be free anymore. If I let him be, he could die from injury or the cold. If I really had to pick either/or, I would choose to bring him in as a prisoner of war. If he was a prisoner of war, he would be fed and his injuries would be treated. I believe living life imprisoned would be better than having no life at all, (dying). I would feel bad imprisoning him, but there would always be a small hope residing within me, that after the war was over, he would be a free man once again.
ReplyDeleteI would bring him in because if he stayed where he was, he would probably die or hurt one of my soldiers. If I did not bring him in, I wouldn't be obeying my orders and that would be wrong. Plus, if I brought him in to my camp, he would have a better chance at surviving.
ReplyDeleteI would capture the young soldier because it's winter and he would more than likely die of his wounds anyways, but; I would demand that I was to be the one keeping tabs on him. This way I would be able to show him sympathy and still be safe because you never know what an enemies intentions truly are, it's possible he's acting in order to be let free.
ReplyDeleteI would let him stay free because he is hurt.no one would know I let him free because he doesn't speak English. not everyone is bad and wants to kill so as long as he doesn't hurt me or my men he can stay and let his people find him.
ReplyDeleteI would take the boy prisoner because you dont know if he would do the same for you, and you dont know the reason why he is where he is. For all you know if you let him go he would return to the enemy with information, then the enemy launches an assult that kills the men who you forged bonds with; who you call brothers, and knowing that their deaths were your fault for letting that one boy go.
ReplyDeleteI would capture the soldier because he will probably survive and not be killed if I had left him out there.
ReplyDeleteI would take him in, he would most likely do the same. I wouldn't know why the boy was there in the first place, he could be doing that to get everyone to go help him but then all his troops would come in out of nowhere and kill us, he could be a distraction.
